Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh settle...

After moving, this box is finally being unpacked. It's a fleece from my aunt, fresh back from the processor. And ohhhh, it's pretty...and big! The box is at least 2 feet square. The fleece is kinda like stone soup, the more I use, the more it puffs up and looks like I haven't put a dent in it.
But I have, on this...
Ohhhweeee!!!!! My wheel! It is the Kronski Minstral, and it's sooooo pretty!!! My dad, Mr VT and I stained it a pretty reddish brown color...see? Even the back is pretty!!
I love the different tones in it, lighter and darker areas where the stain took different. And it spins so well, even though I still am very much learning...See????
I made this first, it was fun.
Now I'm making this, it's still super fun! I'm getting the hang of it better, but just need more practice.
Today was FINALLY above 40 degrees and warm enough to be outside without a coat on, so I rallied my (ill with a cold) self to skirt the rest of last years fleeces. Thank god I was able to hang on long enough to get them done, I've been couch bound since friday at 5. Just sick enough to not be able to drag myself off the couch for much of anything, but not so sick that I wanted to just fall asleep with cold medicine. This was good though, as I finished off the ball of yarn on dad's scarf and turn the short row heel on socks, then start and progress the second sock (toe up) up to 1 inch before the heel turn. Thank god I'm finally getting back in the swing of knitting again...

almost done...

moving is coming to an end, leaving us with organizing, fitting, squeezing, and decorating. While our new place is larger, nicer, and generally a better fit for us, it is lacking in the storage space area. Actually, the closets are HUGE, and it's a 3 bedroom...meaning 1 bedroom, 1 Mr. VT's home office and lab area, and one guest room/CRAFT AND KNITTING ROOM!!!! EEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKK! I'm a little excited. The one drawback is that it is a normal apartment, meaning for the first time EVER since college, I have no basement, garage, shed, attic, or other useful "put it all in there" area. As me and the hubbie are avid (aka have all needed gear) rock climber, ice climber, whitewater and flat water canoeists, fisherpeople, skier/tele, multi-day hikers, and just general outdoors people, thus we have storage issues. When your storage needs start at 9 XL rubbermaid totes and end at 4 canoes, you've got issues. We will fit it all. Somewhere. I swear. Mom and Dad, you might be sleeping IN a canoe. In the guest room. on a matress made of sleeping bags, belay parkas, and 17 pairs of winter gloves.
