My super cute purse, and ETSY!!

TAAA-DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA itn't it cute???????? And I successfully found a magnetic clasp so the button is purely decorative. Love it, carried it last night, christened it (with spilled beer at an outdoor Strangefolk show).

AND I finally got some bags up on Etsy, so check them out!!!

In the Circle of Hell...

It has been soooo hot here. No surprise, as it has been hot everywhere. But when someone (like me, for instance) works outside all day on the hottest day of the year, it really sucks. And where does said person live? In Texas? Of course it's hot in Texas. Oh wait, my bad, they live in the Great-White-North, AKA Maine. Oh so it's humid too. I get it. I escaped hell by standing in the walk-in freezer of the restaurant so as to not get heat-stroke, which I've already probabally had once this year already, thank-you-very-much.

Oh and the heat? it does things. Like this:

I especially like the part in bold letters "Do not store can inside a vehicle". Now we all know why. And lets just say that when you store it there anyway and it explodes refrigerant-cooler-stuff all over the inside of your car, no one from the company is falling over themselves to tell you how to clean it up. Next attempt: Dawn dishwashing liquid and warm water.

In happier news, my local bead store that randomly carries yarn and needles has decided that they no longer want to randomly carry yarn and needles. So they are having a sale. As in a liquidation sale.
Me: ...so how long will the sale on yarn last?
Clerk: until it's all gone.
Me: (Oh my lord, it's a miracle. The celebrated yarn-store-going-out-of-business-sale in my own town!) soooo...the yarn will be more than 30% off soon, huh?
Clerk: we don't have a schedule of when discounts will happen.

Let the stalking begin...fortunately, it's on the main road through town, so I can keep on top of markdowns. After discovering this today I barely escaped alive, with three skeins of Lambs Pride Bulky tagging along. Woo hoo, yarn stocking up!

Heeee Haaaaa goodies!!!

I GOT GOODIES!! sooo cool, my SP made me this funky sooo-me bag for small knitted goodies, as you can see, the sock (if you can call it that) is already making it's home there. It has handles and a zipper on top! I got yummy (I assume, I am trying to not gobble them too fast) chocolate with toffee yummies inside-my favorite!!!! I got this very soft and realy cool bamboo yarn in colors that randomly match my dorky-70's-velour-salvation-army-couch, I love love the colors, and have no idea what to make with it, but immediatly started looking : )

Last but not least, the cats got greenies! Zora, as you can see, wasted no time breaking into the package and no surprise Dulce AKA the Tongue licked one for a while then moved on to licking me/DH/the table/some tape/Zora's butt/the floor/her own butt.
Dulce does not see treat-genius when it falls on her, and even turned up her nose at the all-natural venison jerky treats that Zora scaled a 3-layer cupboard for. So excited about treats!!!! THANK YOU SP!!! I got some treats today for myself too, new hair dye, a sweatshirt from goodwill I am making into a skirt, and some SP goodies of my own. Yeay!

Sooo...a little excitement for anyone?

So I'm at work slinging beers and all of a sudden a quiet frenzy breaks out among the girls I work with... Yes, Leonardo DiCaprio and his Vicky Secrets girlfriend ate at PLC, I saw him with my own eyes. And now it's in the paper. Nothing like Leo showing up and getting all the ladies into a tizzy to spice up an otherwise quiet night at the bar.

Finally...Pics!

Sooo... I finally got the camera hooked up to my computer so I don't have to pull them off DH's network. So I've got some catching up to do! I got a great package from my Secret Pal that arrived while I was in Georgia. See! There are yummy gummy thingies that are sour too (my favorite), some stitch markers that aren't split like my other ones so they are much more useful for many things. I also got some yummy sock yarn in a really cool colorway that'ss look great as a pair of the new socks from magknits. They came with a set of inox double pointed needles that are not displayed because I already pulled them out and put them in my needle holder. On
the sock front, you can see here that I have been making great headway on my Jaywalkers. Great colors from Cherry Tree Hill and my bargin bin lantern moons. Since the time I started the sock, I think I have completed an impressive amount of knitting, especially since the needles are tiny-tiny, I am not especially fast on DPN's, and I got distracted with reading books and a new project. I am still not totally sure that I am a sock convert, but I like the small size and portability. I will have to see if I get hooked, but until them I will keep plugging away on them. This is more difficult since I am discovering that I am not a summer knitter. Some people like
knitting in certain seasons, and my favorite season is any season other than summer. However, I was able to rally long enough to complete the fastest bag in the east, from a pattern my soon-to-be sis in law has. Made from a lambs-pride look-a-like yarn and felted in my mega-felter washing machine. This was ONE cycle in a pillowcase. Woah, felted! It's smaller and tighter than the one Ang made, but since I wanted a tiny on-the-town purse, it's perfect. I need to find a magnetic closure and a cool button to finish it off, but it's done! So if anyone out there in blogland needs any felting done, send them my way and I'll have it done in a snap : )

To round out my pic-heavy catching up I've got a couple pics of our flower area, where DH's plant collection resides in the summer. We've got lots of orchids (note the ones in the tree too), a blooming brugmansia, some other wacky things that Eric's aquired, a few tomatoes, peppers, and chilis (or some other hot pepper). Please ignore the collection of beer
bottles, we enjoy the evening beverage, but I think those were from a small party we had a few nights ago and have been having too much fun to clean up after. So not I'm off to go canoing for the afternoon before work tonight!! Happy summer!
