Meet Burton

This is Burton the Bunny. He is a much happier rabbit than he looks in the pictures. Eric named him after Tim Burton, I agree he is pretty Nightmare Before Christmas-ish. He is going home with Brian and Marianna. He is a silly rabbit, and has a very pretty coat made of some lovely Dibbie Bliss SoHo yarn. He makes me smile.

Five Quarters of the Orange

New book to begin, should be good...especially if her last book Chocolat is any indication.

Yes, we should all pick up our knitting...though perhaps for different reasons, and I don't think a battleship is involved.

Shedir

Blocking my Shedir hat, which was my first attempt at cabling. Of course you can hardly see the cables because it's wet and all the hairs are mushed. The pic does not show my ingenous blocking method, which involved duck taping a saran wrap-covered legnth of cardboard to the top of a head-sized mixing bowl. Crossing my fingers...

Soggy Bunny

The Burton Bunny (aka Tim Burton) looking even more Burton-ish without the benefit of eyes and a mouth (which are coming). Fun to make, but challenging to make something so small on club-like size 13 dpn's.

Reads

The current books I'm reading, in between all the other reading! Black and Blue is decent, though not a show stopper, and Spirit I am actually reading for class, but it's getting rave reviews from classmates (okay I haven't technically started it). Reading goes a bit slower when you have way too much of it!!

Yarrrrrrrn

Here's the yarn I'm using to make the Penryn sweater, which is next in line. It knits up really cute from what I have seen in the pattern pics.

Done in record time

It is truely shocking how fast something knits up when you are making it to fit a grapefruit. I got this yarn with Becky Sunday morn, and Tuesday night it was done (and that included frogging the entire top once and unknitting two rows). I must resist so that Pinto (the recipient, Eric's brother Brian and Marianna's soon-to-be kid) Does not grow up bald because he has too many hats to wear. It is modeled by our smallest mixing bowl, and is a varient on Stitch n Bitch's Umbilical Cord hat.
And...on the right you will find Eric's sleeve. Yep, it's FINALLY done. He has a very long arm. And you know what they say about guys with long arms...they need long sleeves...heeheeheehee.
